Christmas Stockings

These are my friends, Faith, Marianne and Esther. A couple of years ago I brought over Christmas stockings for them, in the summer.....could have been Sept....and we had a sort of Christmas party. It was soooooo fun. The stockings were all strip pieced with beading and jewels and trims. Kind of like the messenger bags. Really decadent. Really fun to make and give away.

Tote-a-Kitty

Bad Bo! Trying to steal handles to totes.
Silly kitty totes.....very silly....but very useful. Padded shoulder straps, lined with cotton lining, flat batting, and stitched to make strong.

Another silly kitty tote. pockets inside this time. They may sell pretty well at the Christmas craft bazaar ( provided that it happens....never know if there will be space available.)

Tallith

Made for a friend in 2000......that the year I made a dozen or so of these Tallith table runners...all with velvet, brocade, beading, fringes. The pattern is the Star of David, paper pieced on the wrong side and turned.

Wedding Ring wall quilt 2003

Wedding Ring Sea Wall Quilt. Made for Brenda and Jim Brannigan 2003. Appliqued seas shells on the corners. They both played in a Celtic band , or two, at one time, and were engaged in the Maritimes, so thought the ocean deco look was kind of cool.

Batik Sun

Batik Fabric from Sri Lanka.....found it at in White Rock, at Mount Olive Lutheran's World Relief Bazaar ( a few years ago).......backedit in cotton and filler. The needle went through the fabric as if it was butter. Incredibly porous.......gorgeous.

Earth Tone Beaded Tote

Love this tote! All earth tones, fringed in gold, beading, lined with cotton and pockets. Made it a couple of years ago....couldn't figure out who it should go to. Finally gave it a home with a friend of Frona's...thought she might like it. I think it originally had long handles, but I found them gangly and annoying, so cut them down to handles. Seems to work better.

Watercolour 2010

Watercolour, throw quilt. Made with graduated colour squares for the centre , surrounded by numerous squares of all sizes. For Aleia Militsala's Grad ( Edmonton). Really liked doing the border.....kind of cathartic to work with little squares of fabric. Loved stiching the quilt pattern.....worked it from the reverse side, so made it easier.....freestyle.
